~ OUR CURRICULUM ~

PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN EDUCATIONAL GOALS

Southeast Christian Academy's preschool and kindergarten program is developed to provide young children with a sound foundation for future learning. It is developmentally appropriate and includes a child-centered environment. It includes a combination for quiet and active periods intended to enhance emotional stability.

The A Beka curriculum is used to introduce the children to phonics, math, and letter formation. Group activities are composed of short segments that focus on socialization, language arts, numbers, science, music, and art. These short segments closely approximate the attention span of three, four, and five year olds.

The majority of our four year olds are either reading or ready to read when they enter kindergarten. Our kindergartners are reading and solving simple addition and subtraction problems by the time they enter first grade.
